Love is a many splendid thing as they say. It is splendidly wicked. It is heaven and hell, it is ambivalence. It hurts so good. It is memories fading fast into a dream into a nightmare. It is remembering their scent, their face, their touch. It is the awful past you want to syncronizingly relive and forget. It is the second hand, the minute hand, the hour hand speeding quickly. It is the hand that slaps you until you are unconscious; until you are choking to death with the feelings that continue to haunt you even when you are sleeping. When you close your eyes the very thought of them pushes you over the edge of your seat. You fall to the floor wishing this could end. The hot tears well in your eyes and your face flushes red. Everything scarlet. Love is the beginning and the end. The comforter and tormenter. It is when you think right is wrong, and wrong is right. & then you begin to dilute the truth. There are only lies at one point. You live lies and you like it. You know you do. Until they hurt you and then you know you're not ready for the truth. You bury your head into your pillow at night and cry but the only person that hears you is yourself. Love is good at leading you on. It is good at making you suffer. It binds you tightly into the ropes of illusion. It keeps you there. It laughs in your face. You can't do anything but take the ridicule; the loss. It never stops. Never quits in it's way of toying with you yet consoling you simultaneously. Love loves you and hates you. It's a puzzle never to be solved. It is everything and nothing. It makes you love to love. Then love to hate. Hate to love. Hate to hate. Love speaks in riddles. When you question it, it questions you. You may think you can outsmart it. Yes, you can for a time play master and live life wonderfully. But sooner or later love whips you back into submission, only to have you on the ground questioning yourself, questioning everything you've ever done all over again. |
